Disaster Recovery Centre Preparation & Maintenance Services For CIDB (DRC)

CIDB MALAYSIA

CIDB, in alignment with its commitment to the development of information and communication technology (ICT), has actively developed various systems to enhance the quality of its service delivery to customers. In 2017, CIDB transformed its core business into ICT, leading to all customer interactions with CIDB being exclusively conducted online.

This implementation has significantly influenced the data transactions received by the CIDB database. To ensure optimal network accessibility, the CIDB Data Centre is strategically located in a facility equipped with security features that adhere to Data Centre specifications. Furthermore, to maintain uninterrupted daily operations in the face of potential Data Centre disasters, CIDB has established a Disaster Recovery Centre (DRC) to serve as a data and application storage facility.

The Disaster Recovery Centre (DRC) is a physical infrastructure designed to replace the primary operations centre in the event of a disaster. It is equipped with hardware, software, application systems, and network systems that mirror the capabilities of the main operating centre or data centre.

Provisioning this DRC involves allocating space for server racks and related hardware and establishing a direct network connection to facilitate automatic data transfer.

Starting from September 2020, CIDB Malaysia has engaged CIDB E-Construct Services Sdn. Bhd. (CIDBEC) for DRC preparation and maintenance services, with a two-year commitment.

These initiatives underscore CIDB Malaysia’s commitment to harnessing ICT advancements to benefit its customers and ensure the security of its data and operations.
